Between Land and Sky, Part II (2014 - In Progress)
Continuing the same thread as Between Land and Sky (part I) this series includes photographs from Alaska, our new home in Central California and our travels south along the Pacific Coast. The works are inspired by a wish to create images that mimic the sensory and visual cues that inform recollection. Although grounded in the photographic real, because the scenes are isolated from the larger continuum, they avoid being connected with a specific location or time. The fragmentary views are both elusive and weightless, offering no more than a poetic pause or glimpse of temporal and physical space.
