Rarefied Light is Alaska’s largest annual fine art photography exhibition. This year we received 650 entries by 97 artists. Guest juror Susan Burnstine, selected 49 photographs for inclusion in this year’s exhibition This year, Best of Show is awarded to Kaitlin Wilson, Fairbanks, for the print “House in the Birch Forest”

Honorable Mentions were also awarded to:

Javid Kamali, Anchorage, “Jump”

Shalem Mathew, Anchorage, “Kaden”

Meike Paniza, Anchorage, “Sunbeam”

Breanna Peterson, Kodiak, “High Five”

Cody Swanson, Anchorage, “baby, you didn’t have a choice”

Following the Anchorage exhibit, which will include prints by Susan Burnstine showing concurrently, the exhibit will travel to the Bear Gallery in Fairbanks, showing December 4th to December 26th, with an opening reception, December 4th, 5 to 7pm. Show dates for Kenai in 2015, are TBD”
